Figments of Fiction
--
I could tell you a story or not
Though it’s not what I want
I could talk about a prince
and princess
And albeit you would read along
Or you could skip along
I could talk about a hero
who went against all odds
And albeit you read along
Or you could skip along
I should talk about a
simple, humble man
Who sat everyday
on the window
Putting water and seeds
for the birds that may come
hither with hunger
He could choose to
not do that
use those seeds for himself.
But the seed of kindness
and humility is greater
than greed
and selfishness.
So, who is a hero?
A person who has courage
or who has humility.
One who shoulders it alone
or one who takes everybody along.
Nobody is a hero
and yet, everybody is.
It’s the moments that
make you the hero
and not you.
It’s the choices that
make you hero
and not you.
